These heart-breaking events underscored the need for stringent infection prevention and control measures and led to the development of infection prevention and control guidance for long-term care homes, released yesterday.

With the weather getting nicer, Mayor Tory is being asked how the City plans to ensure Torontonians can socially distance while walking outside. The Mayor told CP24 that he does not support closing roads to cars to provide more room for pedestrians because it could have the unintended consequence of attracting more pedestrians to busy areas. He did indicate he was open to one-way sidewalks, but was not sure how to enforce that idea. In terms of congestion on sidewalks, the Mayor told CP24: If there are places in the city where there is real congestion on sidewalks, I would ask people to call 311 because we need that information in order to make a decision about something like one-way sidewalks.
