Young Professionals Network – Future Forward Series: Overcoming Setbacks and Staying Motivated
Jul 29, 2020
The economic disruptions caused by COVID-19 are creating new career obstacles – especially for young people. Hiring freezes, cancelled job placements or downsizing mean that young professionals are experiencing significant setbacks in pursuing their goals. It is important to remember, however, that these setbacks do not have to mean failure.
That’s the message RBC Olympian and Amazing Race Canada runner-up Sam Effah will bring to a special webcast hosted by the Board’s Young Professionals Network. Sam – who would have been competing in the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics if not for the pandemic – will talk about his drive to be a leader and take you ‘stride for stride’ through the 100m final at the Commonwealth Games.
His advice will help you pursue your passion, while coping with high stress and anxiety. You’re welcome to ask questions, which will be moderated by YPN Committee Member and Ontario Power Generation’s Stakeholder Relations Officer, Alexandria Anderson, to learn more about how to stay motivated despite setbacks and unexpected challenges.
When: Wednesday, July 29 @ 2:00 p.m.
Sam Effah, 2-Time Canadian 100m Champion, RBC Olympian Team Canada 2020
